Canadian Millionaire Moms Who Glow!

Have you ever wondered how women in different parts of the world build an ultra successful
business?   The focus this month is on Canada. The Canadian population is similar to that of California. It is small but mighty. Nadja Piatka of Nadja Foods, Julie Rusciolelli of Maverick PR, Jessica Gamble from SalesFuel, Inc. and Farah Perelmuter from Speaker’s Spotlight are four Canadian millionaire moms with fascinating stories to share with us.

Nadja Piatka of Nadja Foods is a shining example of true Canadian spirit and grit that has carried her from hard times to CEO of Nadja Foods.  Her husband of twenty years announced one day he met someone new and wanted a divorce. She went from stay at home mom living a nice suburban lifestyle to single mom looking unsuccessfully for work and living on the wrong side of the tracks. At her lowest moment, Nadja and her daughter literally hid under their table to avoid a bill collector who was peering in the windows. It was in that moment she vowed to hire herself and never subject her or her daughter to that type of humiliation again! With $100 she started Nadja Foods which has grown it into a multi- million dollar powerhouse servicing clients like Subway, McDonald’s Canada and others with her delicious brownies and baked goods.  Her daughter is finishing her MBA in Italy and is spearheading their organic foods division. Nadja has come full circle and is a true inspiration for women everywhere.

Her glow comes from the love of family and the ability to give back to her community and society at large. She speaks to the fact that successful entrepreneurs are in a position to affect positive change in the world. Nadja companies have been very generous in donating to worthy causes like the Ronald McDonald House Canada & sponsoring women around the world who are survivors of war. Her generosity has reached Rwanda, the Congo, Kosovo and beyond. What an amazing Canadian & woman!   Julie Rusciolelli’s firm “Maverick PR” name matches her spirit and enthusiasm.  Julie left a high paying position to start her own company. She mortgaged her house, took out a line of credit to fund her venture and went 9 months without getting paid. She cut the bottom out of her safety net figuring it would force her to succeed. When asked if she was scared she said “Of course! I was nervous everyday for a year!” Failure, however, was never an option. Her firm’s corporate culture is to always do your best. Large corporations have noticed their professional excellence and rewarded her with plenty of
business.  Julie defines glow for herself as knowing she always does her personal best and acts as a positive role model while being a great mom. She maintains that Canadian women have a free spiritedness about them and that they embrace entrepreneurialism.

As a teenager, many girls dream of what their future husband will be like? Farah Perelmuter was busy visualizing what her own successful business would look like instead. She would be located in Toronto. She would have a fantastic view of the of the CNN tower. She would have an elevator that opened to her office and a glass desk. She and her husband created a speaker’s bureau that boasts the best speakers in the world. All her visualizations have manifested into reality right down to the glass desk!

How amazing would it be to have access to the most interesting and successful people in the world? In spite of the glamour of the circles Farah moves in she finds her glow in knowing her wise choices in the past now allow her the flexibility to leave her office at 2 p.m. if her children have an event at school. It’s the simple things in life like having control over her schedule that make her glow. Her view on Canadians is they possess a great sense of national pride and an overabundance of natural beauty. Their family would never want to live anywhere else!
Jessica Gamble knows how to grow business. Her company Sales Fuel has grown 100% each year over the past four years. She attributes the success to bringing true business value to her clients. Sales Fuel delivers measurable results to their clients. She says that Canadians are caring with an appreciation of the collective consciousness as opposed to the individual. Showing positive care to all she encounters is what makes her glow. We are all connected.
While Canada’s population might be tiny compared to the United States it also means the landscape is less competitive.  The Canadian countryside is unique and beautiful. The culture is caring. No wonder Canadians are so proud! Our neighbors to the North have showed us that Canada is a great place to do business.
