The Glow of Millionaire Moms

Sandra Yancey, creator of the Glow movement aptly raves: “Glow is energy, an aura, a spark. You stand out when you glow. You illuminate. It is what differentiates the most successful women from those who want to be successful. The good news is every one of us has it and we just need to learn how to tap into it.”

This is not only insightful but a battle cry for each one of us to rise and claim our right to shine--to become so bright we literally shed light on those around us, especially our families. As women, we can literally change the world by embracing and expressing our unique abilities and talents. Everyone benefits when lives are lived on purpose and on point.

The goal of this column is to allow Millionaire Moms’ to share their insights, strategies and best tips on how they successfully raised a family and a business at the same time.

The first edition, is to show you that we all have obstacles to overcome. The difference is in ourreactions to our circumstances. The choices this column will challenge and coach you on are to take a close look at your day to day decisions.

Are you thrilled with your life as it is? If not, it’s a direct correlation on the decisions you made in the past to do or not do something. Life as it exists today is a sum total of the choices made in the past. It is our daily habits that taken individually seem innocent enough but over time come to define us--at least until we decide it’s time for change. We will help you let go of any fears, guilt or negative dialogues that may be occurring in your head and replace them with courage, energy and positive expectation by hearing how these women have done it. It’s impressive whenever anyone reaches the millionaire milestone but it is even more so when done in high heels and a baby on your hip!

Let’s debunk the myths surrounding these Millionaire Moms. Their stories are as varied as the Glow readers. They experience ups and downs just like the rest of us. The reality is the “overnight success” is typically years of hard work and risk paying off. Many of these moms have experienced far more dire situations than you and me.

Valerie Fitzgerald, a millionaire mom real estate agent in Beverly Hills started out her career as a
single mom of an infant daughter with no financial or emotional resources to aid her. Before she made her first sale, she went eight months without income toting her infant daughter around showing real estate. Could she have become discouraged and quit? Of course. She was scared but she made the decision to be a strong role model for her daughter and persevere. It was a choice she made to fight through the fear and solider on. Valerie now enjoys a luxurious lifestyle from her “quitting is not an option” attitude. She has mentored other single moms on how to create a life for themselves and their children. That’s glow.

Annie Stanton from Enjoy The City is someone who chose to glow instead of allowing her light to burn out. She was riding high in a business she built with $20 million in investor financing until the dot com bust. Overnight her investors put her out of business laying off 300 employees and costing her $2 million dollars. What did she do? She didn’t pull the shades down and roll into the fetal position. She made a mental commitment to herself to start anew and this time stay in control. Her biggest disappointment was not losing $2 million dollars but the fact her employees were without jobs. She started her new business a week later and is now doing $14 million in revenue. The best part? She recently took 80 of her employees and their families to Cancun to celebrate their success. Annie is running her business her way this time around and that means family first. She accomplished all this in spite the fact she contends with a condition called Bells Palsy. This lady truly glows!

You are in control of your destiny. Do you want to live a ho hum existence or do you choose to
differentiate yourself and glow? If you commit to shining then create a big vision for yourself, one that is really exciting and worth going for! The universe rewards those who take action. The right people magically appear at the precise moment you need them when you live life on purpose. We are all connected in sisterhood. We are here to support each other.
